The department that signs off the equipment.

Q Division is the research and intelligence department of Elementary Digital. The other departments make the systems a business runs on. Q Division builds, tests and signs off what runs across all of them, and returns the receipt.

the house

One company, five departments.

Elementary makes equipment for the departments of a business. Each department of the house makes one system. Q Division makes the one that works across them.

standing orders

Precise, calm, dry.

The senior engineer who tested the thing and will tell you exactly what it does and does not do. Never breathless. Never mystical about intelligence.

Say the limit with the claim.

A product that cannot verify an outcome should not promise it. Our documentation reports local qualification and production acceptance as different states, because they are.

Let a person decide.

Capability without approval is a liability. The approval screen is the product at its most Q, and it is where we spend our design time.

Write it down.

A run that leaves no receipt did not happen. Journals, receipts and evidence are not features added to the product. They are the product.

Keep the model replaceable.

Models change monthly. The instrument panel should not. Q routes to whichever model fits the task and stays indifferent to the logo on it.

proof by operation

Elementary will run on Q.

The house intends to be its own first customer. The first department to run on Q is finance: the credit controller chasing Elementary's own invoices through Vellon and Route Royal, under a mandate, with receipts. Then operations, with the lettings coordinator. Then people, with the onboarding clerk from first invitation to first invoice.

None of this is running yet. The order is set, the roles are being built, and when a department runs, its ledger will be published here, anonymised, on a cadence. Until then the page says so.
